Golf Tip of the Month

Forward to a Friend
While most of us will miss our golf, winter is an excellent time to make significant swing changes.  If you play several times a week or a month you'll most likely fall into the same old patterns.  A long break is a great opportunity to forget the old patterns and establish new ones.

As an example let's assume that you tend to stay on your back foot when you hit the ball, and therefore have trouble following through.  Swing a weighted club in the garage for 15 minutes per day, with the focus on finishing with your weight on the front foot.  Fifteen minutes a day for 4-6 weeks will create a new behavoir and finishing properly will start to feel comfortable.  A new pattern will be established.

Remember old habits die hard; it's a good idea to take a minute to also change your pre shot routine.  If you have been standing over the ball for 8 seconds before you hit, change it to 4 or 10. This also will strengthen your change of behavoir.

Contact me directly with specific questions and I will be happy to help you.

Good Luck and keep me posted,
Jay
